Kommentar/Beschreibung

This course gives an introduction to machine learning algorithms including basic techniques of data mining. Contents: Concept learning and version space, decision trees, data preprocessing (outlier detection, missing value treatment using the EM-algorithm), distance metrics, clustering (hard- and soft-clustering, conceptual clustering), linear and nonlinear dimension reduction, neural networks (cognitive motivation, Hebbian learning, perceptron, multilayer perceptron), local methods (instance based learning, radial basis functions, self-organizing maps), classification (Bayesian classification, overview of types of classifiers and SVM), reinforcement learning.
