Beschreibung: Combined seminar with lectures. We will have a detailed view on latest developments in the field of digital libraries. This will include technical implementations and structural developments as well as an analysis of the economical and political framework.
Topics will be, e.g. trends like open access publication, parallel publication, development of search engines and ranking criteria, copyright law in the national and international context, web services using SOAP and .net, quality criteria for institutional and national document repositories, techniques and developments for long term preservation of content, a view on the businessmodel of open source etc.
